Barefaced & Boots | Spring Retreat 2027: The Beauty Of Showing Up As You Are
When was the last time you let yourself be seen exactly as you are?
Not dressed up. Not perfectly put together. Not with your hair freshly styled, your makeup done, or every little detail carefully planned.
Just you.
I think somewhere along the way, so many of us have gotten used to believing that we need a little something extra before we’re ready to be seen. We feel better once our hair is done, once we’ve lost a few pounds, once we find the right outfit, once our skin clears up, or once we look a little more like the version of ourselves we think we should be.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with loving makeup, getting dressed up, or enjoying all the little extras. I love those things, too!
But I think it’s important to remember that those things are just that, extras. They’re not what make us beautiful, worthy, interesting, or deserving of being celebrated.
You are still worthy of being seen on the days you don’t feel put together.
You’re worthy when your hair is a little wild, when you’re wearing your favorite comfortable clothes, when you have no makeup on, when you’re tired, when life feels messy, and when you don’t feel like the most confident version of yourself.
I want women to experience what it feels like to take a step back from all the expectations and simply exist as themselves. To have conversations without feeling like they need to impress anyone. To laugh without worrying about how they look. To be photographed without feeling like they need to hide every little thing they wish were different.
Because sometimes the most beautiful thing we can do for ourselves is stop trying so hard to be anything other than who we already are.
Why Barefaced & Boots?
That’s where the idea for Barefaced & Boots came from.
I wanted to create something a little different. An experience centered around connection, self-worth, and getting comfortable with the woman you are right now without the pressure of getting all dolled up or feeling like you need to show up as some polished version of yourself.
Think bare faces, cowboy boots, desert air, country vibes, good conversations, a little adventure, and a group of women who are there to experience something meaningful together.
Our next spring retreat will be a smaller, more intimate gathering. We’ll spend two nights together with space for personal conversations, coaching, connection, creative experiences, and individual photoshoots. The details will be a little simpler, but the intention behind it is just as meaningful.
And no, this isn’t about being against makeup or getting dressed up. There’s a time and place for all of that, and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying it.
It’s about knowing you don’t need any of it to be enough.
You Don’t Have to Become Someone Else First.
I don’t want women to feel like they have to arrive at a certain place in life before they can enjoy experiences like this.
You don’t have to be more confident. You don’t have to have your life figured out. You don’t have to lose weight, change your appearance, or become some completely different version of yourself.
You can come exactly as you are.
Maybe you’ll leave with new friendships. Maybe you’ll have a conversation that stays with you long after the weekend ends. Maybe you’ll see yourself in a photograph and notice something you haven’t been able to see in a while.
Or maybe you’ll simply get to spend a couple of days being a woman, not a mom, a business owner, a partner, a caretaker, or the person everyone depends on.
Just you.
And I think there’s something really special about that.
Barefaced & Boots isn’t about taking anything away from you. It’s about remembering that you were already enough before you added anything on.
So here’s to showing up a little less polished, a little more present, and a whole lot more ourselves.
Boots on. Faces bare. Hearts open.
