LET IT GO
Finding Freedom in Nature | Learning to Release, Be Present & Come Home to Yourself
Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is stop carrying what was never yours to hold.
There is something about being outside that has a way of putting life back into perspective.
Maybe it's the way the wind moves through the trees without asking permission. The way wildflowers bloom wherever they find enough light. The way the sun continues to rise every morning, completely unbothered by yesterday.
Nature never rushes.
It never apologizes for changing.
It simply exists.
I think we could learn a lot from that.
We spend so much of our lives holding on. Holding onto conversations we wish had gone differently. Holding onto mistakes we've already apologized for. Holding onto expectations of who we thought we'd be by now. Holding onto people who have already let us go.
We convince ourselves that if we think about it just one more time, replay it one more time, analyze it one more time, somehow we'll find peace.
But peace was never hiding inside the overthinking.
It's found in the letting go.
Not because what happened didn't matter.
But because you matter too.
There is a quiet kind of healing that happens when you step outside and realize the world keeps moving.
The trees don't compare themselves to the ones beside them.
The river doesn't question if it's flowing in the right direction.
The sunset never asks if it's beautiful enough.
They're simply doing what they were created to do.
How much lighter would we feel if we gave ourselves that same permission?
The older I get, the more I realize healing isn't always found in fixing yourself.
Sometimes it's found in remembering you were never broken.
Maybe what your soul has been asking for isn't another self-help book or another perfectly planned five-year plan.
Maybe it's asking you to sit beneath the trees.
To listen to the birds instead of your inner critic.
To notice the warmth of the sun on your skin.
To smell the earth after it rains.
To take your shoes off and let the grass remind you that you're here.
Right now.
Not yesterday.
Not tomorrow.
Here.
We miss so much of our lives because we're always somewhere else in our minds.
We're replaying yesterday while tomorrow quietly steals today's joy.
The truth is...
This moment will never exist again.
Not this breeze.
Not this sunset.
Not this version of you.
And that feels incredibly heartbreaking...
But also incredibly freeing.
Because maybe life was never asking us to control every outcome.
Maybe it was simply asking us to experience it.
To laugh a little louder.
To breathe a little deeper.
To notice the golden light spilling through the trees.
To watch the candles flicker without wondering what comes next.
To let ourselves exist without feeling like we constantly need to become someone else.
The woman you're growing into isn't waiting for you somewhere in the future.
She's built every single time you choose presence over perfection.
Every time you release something that no longer serves you.
Every time you forgive yourself.
Every time you stop fighting the season you're in.
So today...
Open the windows.
Take the long way home.
Watch the sunset instead of photographing it.
Listen to the wind.
Feel the warmth of the earth beneath your feet.
Take a deep breath and let something go.
Because life was never meant to be carried with clenched fists.
It was meant to be held with open hands.
And maybe...
Just maybe...
That's where freedom has been waiting for you all along.
